Here at our Miami facial rejuvenation practice, Dr. Calderon understands how the face ages and where the significant changes occur. The most dramatic change brought by aging is loss of volume in the cheek, temple, eyebrows, under eyes, and the lip and mouth areas. Restoring lost facial volume gives the patient a natural, rejuvenated appearance. This is possible by combining skin care and volume restoration treatments.

How is facial aging treated?

Dr. Calderon uses only FDA-approved products to treat facial aging, such as Juvederm Ultra Plus

®, Voluma™, Belotero®, and Radiesse®.

What is Juvederm Ultra Plus®?

Juvederm Ultra Plus® is a hyaluronic acid filler that is injected into parts of the face that have lost volume. It temporarily adds volume to the skin and smooths out wrinkles and folds, especially those found around the mouth and nose. This injectable filler restores the patient’s smooth, youthful appearance. The majority of patients need a single treatment to achieve optimal results. The results of a Juvederm Ultra Plus® treatment typically last a year.

What is Juvederm Voluma™ XC?

Juvederm Voluma™ XC is a hyaluronic acid filler that contains a local anesthetic (lidocaine) to make treatments more comfortable. This injectable filler is manufactured using the VYCROSS technology to create a special smooth-gel filler that produces long-lasting results at the treated sites. It is injected into the cheek and mid-face to correct volume loss.

What is Belotero®?

Belotero Balance® is an injectable filler that temporarily smooths out and fills in moderate to severe nasolabial folds (lines that run from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth). The filler can also be used on crow’s feet, cheeks, perioral lines, lips, and marionette lines (lines from the corners of the mouth to the jaw). After a single treatment, the patient may see a visible improvement in facial aging for 9 months. Like other hyaluronic acid fillers, a touch-up session 6 to 9 months after the initial treatment can help maintain results.

What is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is a dermal filler that temporarily adds volume to the skin and help smooth out moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles. It can be used to smooth out nasolabial folds and marionette lines, augment the cheeks, and treat the signs of aging on the lower jawline. The benefits of this filler continue over time as it naturally stimulates the production of your body’s natural collagen. Results appear natural and last a year or more.
